Terms of Use

Introduction

The State of Israel by the Embassy of Israel in London (”the Embassy”)) offers the information on this on-line site/internet site (”the Site”)) pursuant to the following terms and conditions.

Any person who establishes or accesses a connection to the Site shall be referred to in this Agreement as (“User”).

By entering the Site and/or subscribing to any of the Embassy’s newsletters, the User accepts theses terms and conditions.

Copyright

According to the law of copyright in the UK , and pursuant to international treaties, all the intellectual property rights on the Site including all materials published, unless stated explicitly otherwise, belong to the Embassy and/or its licensors.

These rights apply, inter alia, to text, pictures, drawings, maps, audio tracts, video tracts, graphics and programme applications. When quoting any content from the Site, the User must attribute the source of the quotation.

The User shall not alter, modify or in any other fashion change the content or any material on the Site, or do any other act which might diminish the value of the Site in a manner which would cast aspersion on the State of Israel, the Embassy or its licensors.

Subject to the law of copyright, the User shall not copy, redistribute, retransmit or publish any content of the Site, or store any content of the Site in any other website or other form of electronic retrievable system, without the prior written consent of the Embassy.

Acceptable Use

The User may only use the Site for lawful purposes.

The User must not use the Site:

a) In any way that causes or may cause, damage to the Site or impairment of availability or accessibility of the Site; or
b) In any way which is with connection with any unlawful, illegal, fraudulent or harmful purpose or activity.

Comments submitted on blogs

The Site allows you to interact with the Site and other Users of the Site by submitting your comments on our blog pages.

By submitting your comments, you grant to the Embassy a worldwide, irrevocable, non-exclusive, royalty free license to use, reproduce, adapt, publish, translate and distribute your comments.

You must not in anyway submit post on the Site which:

a) may be illegal or unlawful; or
b) may infringe any third party’s right; or
c) may be capable of giving rise to legal action whether against you or the Embassy or a third party; or
d) may be pornographic or contains nudity; or
e) may incite violence or racial hatred; or
f) may bully, intimidate or harass other User or be otherwise offensive in any way

Liability

The use of any information or materials on the Site is entirely at the User’s own risk, for which the Embassy shall not be liable. It shall be the User’s own responsibility to ensure that any service or information available through the Site meets his/her specific requirements.

The Embassy will not be held liable for any loss or damage of any nature which may be suffered by the User or any third party as a result of or which may be attributable directly or indirectly from the access and use of the Site, any information contained on the Site, the User’s personal information or material and information transmitted over the system, including loss or damage due to the use of applications that were downloaded directly through the Site or that were activated by using the Site, including ActiveX, JavaScript and Java or any other software.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law the Embassy excludes all representations, warranties and conditions relating to the Site and its use, including, without limitation, any warranties implied by law of satisfactory quality, fitness for purpose and/or the use of reasonable care and skill.

The limitations and exclusions of liability set out in this section and elsewhere in these terms and conditions shall apply regardless of whether the liabilities arising in contract, in tort (including negligence) and for breach of statutory duty.

The Embassy does not warrant the completeness or accuracy of the information published on the Site, nor does it commit to ensuring that the Site remains available or that the material on the Site is kept up to date.

Official publications of the State of Israel

In the event of a discrepancy between the material provided on the Site and material published in the official printed publications of the State of Israel, only the latter shall be deemed correct.

Links

The Site contains links to external third party sites, as well as articles, photographs, texts, graphics, pictures, design, music, sound, video, information, applications and other content originating from third parties.

These sites and content are solely for the convenience of the User. The Embassy does not control or monitor such external third parties sites and content and accepts no responsibility whatsoever over such sites and content accessed through the Site.

Such linked- to site and content shall not be construed as an endorsement, recommendation or favoring by the State of Israel or by the Embassy.

At the time each link was included in the Site, it was found that the material in the linked-to site was relevant to the purposes of the Site, and that the link itself was functional. However, it is possible that with the passing of time, the content of the linked-to sites have changed. If User feels that material on a linked-to site is not fitting, or if User finds that a link is no longer operational, he/she is requested to inform the Webmaster of such. In addition, if User feels that there is an additional site relevant to the subject matter of this Site, he/she is requested to inform the Webmaster of such.

Confidentiality

Personal information given to the Embassy through the Site when subscribing to news letters or in any other way, will be kept confidential in accordance with “Data Protection Act 1988”.

Alteration

The Embassy may at any time revise the terms and conditions of the Site. By visiting the Site the User agrees to the revised terms and conditions.

Official publication by the State of Israel

In the event of a discrepancy between the material provided on the Site and material published in the official printed publications of the State of Israel, only the latter shall be deemed correct.

Severability

If, for what ever reason, a court of competent jurisdiction determines any provision of these terms and conditions to be unlawful and/or unenforceable, all other provisions will continue in effect. If any unlawful and/or unenforceable provision would be lawful or enforceable if part of it were deleted, that part will be deemed to be deleted, and the rest of the provision will continue if effect.

Law and Jurisdiction

These terms and conditions will be governed by and construed in accordance with English law, and any dispute relating to these terms and conditions will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
