The return to Israel of Israeli minds living abroad is a major target of the Ministry of Immigrant Absorption. The Ministry, together with the Centre for Absorption in Science, facilitates the re-integration of scientists, doctors and engineers in research and development in Israel.

Major medical centres have recognised the integral role of medical research to remaining at the forefront of their fields. As a result, cutting-edge research centres are currently being built within the campuses of Israeli medical centres. These institutes are collaborating with the biotechnology industry and medical device industries. In addition, in the Autumn of 2011 a new medical school opened in Zfat, which will encourage the reception of senior researchers and physicians.

The Centre for Absorption in Science assigns professional advisers to the physician or researcher before they return to Israel.
